I recently had a chance to shoot the stunning Muncaster Castle, perched on the edge of a valley with the dramatic peaks of the Lake District as a backdrop. The house itself dates back to the 14th century and was extensively remodelled in the victorian era.
Inside, there are many beautiful rooms all with their own character. It was a great pleasure to take the torch lit tour from Peter Frost-Pennington, the current owner of the 800 year old family estate, while he told us of all the ghost stories, many which are quite believable in such a setting. Undeterred, we returned the following evening to capture the exterior after sundown, managing to grab a handful of images as Peter controlled the impressive light show for me.
I didn’t have anywhere near enough time to shoot the interior so I’m hoping to be able to return some time soon.
