The snow poured down again today so I took advantage of it with a short visit up to Hambleden weir, an old favourite of mine. The sunset was well obscured by the thick cloud deck, which was fine because I would have missed it anyway. I managed to last a couple of hours in the cold before I lost all senses in my hands.
It’s a shame somebody beat me to it and trampled my fresh snow but it happens every time, whether you’re shooting at four in the afternoon or four in the morning. The weirs here are raging away, as they have been all year. This creates some interesting patterns in the water over an exposure of several minutes. Patterns which you would never notice with your own eyes.
